Anita Ferreria
Anita Ferreira is an expert in IT internal controls and has more than 20 years of IT Audit industry experience, with most of these years in public sector. She spent much of her career to help governing and oversight bodies within government to improve the performance of state technology resources. In addition, she also enabling the public sector to deal with the IT challenges, risks and opportunities inherent in the global shift to digital government. Prior to joining TransUnion Africa where she was responsible for Public Sector, she held an Executive role at the Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) where she led their IT Audit portfolio with a staff compliment of +/- 160 people.
She provided independent assurance on government’s use of technology across the entire country and delivered more than 800 IT audits in a year. She also has practical on the ground international experience as she was leading the AGSA IT Audit team from 2009 till 2011, conducting international IT audits for the United Nations. She served on various committees at the AGSA namely, ICT Steercom, Audit Methodology Steercom, Audit Integration Steercom and Tender Committee including representing the AGSA on an international Working Group on IT Audits.
Her unique perspective on the IT challenges and opportunities facing government comes from significant, practical, real on the ground experience in working with public sector organisations. Armed with this knowledge and a passion for technology, she has been able to help leaders across government to realise the vision of using information (big data) to make more informed management decisions. She wants to make a difference by influencing positive change in the way that government manages their IT environments with the ultimate objective to improve service delivery and to improve IT audit outcomes.
Anita is a CISA certified professional with a post graduate degree in Internal Auditing including a National Higher Diploma in Computer Auditing. Quality is on top of her list in everything she does and believes that “Life is a journey, not a destination”.

Johann Steyn
Johanna has in excess of 25 years’ experience in public sector accounting and auditing across all tiers of government. She is qualified Chartered Accountant with post-graduate degrees in Forensic Auditing and Strategic and Corporate Governance.
Being one of the first CAs(SA) appointed by the Auditor-General of South Africa created endless opportunities and she gained exposure within the research and development department leading to the development of a Streamlined Audit Approach for the Office, the “Public Sector Perspective”. She also contributed to the development of Auditing Standards in South Africa. She also developed the Balanced Score Card, a Quality Assurance Methodology, and the establishment of a Trainee Development Programme. She also held Senior Management Positions within PWC, overseeing Departmental Audits, Public Entities and Municipalities.
Johanna also formed part of an International Audit Team for the of the Auditor-General of South Africa, overseeing the: INTOSIA; United Nations Development Programme; United Nations Operational Programme; International Research on Cancer; World Health Organisation; and the International Computing Centre. Johanna was also a Director at SAB&T, which at that stage was one of the largest BEE Auditing Companies in South Africa. Roles and responsibilities included Public Sector Auditing, Training and Development, Quality Control and management of the Performance Management System for Staff and Managers. Johanna was also a Director at SAB&T, which at that stage was one of the largest BEE Auditing Companies in South Africa. Johanna joined Price Waterhouse Coopers (PWC) in 2006 as a Senior Manager in the Public Sector Audit Division and assisted the Consultation Division. She was responsible for overseeing Public Sector Audits, Pre-issuance Reviews, Training, the NERSA Regulatory Reporting Framework (participated and resolved Accounting Conflicts) and lent support to the Institute of Municipal Finance officers (IMFO/CIGFARO). Over the years, Johann has been instrumental in shaping government policy and regulation such as: research on the Standard Chart of Accounts for Governmental Provincial and National Departments; research and development of the Standard Chart of Account for the South African Local Government (municipalities)
